“How Shell V-Power Nitro+ Diesel is made”

I was flown over the Hamburg, German as cameraman with kit to film this promo for the Telegraph Media group.

It was the first shoot that my brand new Sony FS7 camera had been out on. We made the choice to film in 4K Cine style S-Log3 so we had super flat images for the grade. This was a slightly different exposure method than was used too but it quickly made sense.

Shooting it flat meant the more detail was retained in the highlight and shadow areas. So that once in a edit suite a grade can be applied with more creatively. And looking at the grade that has been applied I am very happy with the new FS7 Camera!

It was a very interesting subject to film and we made use of the laborites angles and clean lighting to create straight lines and some great mix of macro filming.

A slight worry occurred being stopped at airport security on the way back to the UK as they found traces of petrol on my lenes, in a random swab test. Lucky for me they let us through on explaining where we had been filming!
