I was hired as a cameraman to fly to Budapest in Hungary, to film an interview with the man who invented the most best selling puzzle of all time! The Rubik’s cube!

Professor Rubik welcomed us into his classroom where he teaches, but I did not manage to get the secret to solving the puzzle in 10 moves! ButI I did get a signed Rubik’s cube from the man himself, which is pretty cool to add to the collection of things given from shoots and is now pride of place on my edit suite desk.

I decided to mirror the colours from the Rubik’s cube in lighting the interview setup. Using primary colour gels of reds and blues to create a colourful backdrop in his classroom.

The film did very well online for the BBC, and was the third most viewed on the BBC Website over Christmas. So have a look and enjoy. This is the third film I have worked on as Cameraman for the BBC. Witness is aired on BBC News World Service and Radio and Online.
