Stephen Hough plays Chopin’s waltz

I was hired as Director of Photography to shoot this music video for Stephen Hough.

Graded black and white for a simple feel. The music and single notes from the piano where beautiful.

I shot this using the Canon 5DMK3. And for a DSLR working in low light the results are very good I am sure you will agree. I back light everything to create silhouettes and mostly used 150w dedolights.

This was an Art film for the Telegraph’s Cultural section.
