Lighting Cameraman London - Camera Operator - Director of PhotographyHello, my name is Richard and I am freelance Director Of Photography and Camera Operator. I have bases to work from in London, Surrey, Gloucestershire and Bristol, but frequently find myself working all over the UK.
I have over 17 years experience in Lighting, Sound, and Video Editing, with credits on BBC, ITV, Channel Four and SKY. I studied Professional Broadcasting and Technical Operations at the industry recognised Ravensbourne College. Where, upon graduating, I worked in live television programmes such as ‘Top Of The Pops’, ‘Big Brother’ and ‘The Salon’ as a Studio Camera Operator and assistant.
Then moving into drama and features as a focus puller and 1st AC working on long running TV drama favourites such as ‘The Bill’ on ITV. I moved through the ranks to become a regular crew member and then Second Unit Camera Operator.

I own a Sony FS7 4K camera, along with a good selection of Lighting and Sound equipment. All this filming kit can be hired along with me as a package.
Working as a Lighting Camera Operator and Director of Photography across a wide range of broadcast television programs and corporate video.
My job has seen me travel around the globe and frequently filming away in places like France, Sweden, Italy, Thailand, Bangladesh, Spain and Germany.
In 2014 I set up a Video Production and Camera Crewing Company called Platform 80. Collaborating with other like minded camera crews to extend the services I have to offer.
I live in South London with my wife, two baby boys and dog Chester. And when not behind the camera lens, I enjoy cooking up asian food and getting muddy in the garden!
Credits on BAFTA award winning programs, such as Channel Fours ‘Random’, which won Best Single Drama in 2011.
