I was hired to shoot a cinematic film for Compassion UK at one of their projects in Kenya.

My brief was to shoot in a ‘cinematic’ style. So the decision was made by the director to shoot all the b-roll in Slowmotion 150fps and with prime lenses wide open. Whenever possible I tried to shoot into the sun using just available light and finding flares.

This was a challenging shoot, not only in environment but emotionally as well. It is hard to detach yourself from the hardships that these families living inside the slums, find themselves in.

This was the second project I have shot for the charity Compassion UK, following on from the TV advert I shot for them at the start of 2016 through The Drummer Agency.
